Raspberry Pi Tutoring I - Feb & Mar

By The Hacktory (other events)

6 Dates Through Mar 30, 2015

ABOUT ABOUT

We are pleased to offer a new program to tutor young makers in programming Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi is one of the most recent, most powerful micro-controllers for hobbyists to program to do a wide range of functions. Our experienced teacher Daniel Bergey is ready with a wide range of topics to explore, and will develop more based on the skills and interest of the students.

This first session is for an entire 6 week commitment from February 23 - March 30. We are limiting enrollment to around 6 students now, from 3rd to 5th grade only. Sessions will take place on Mondays after school from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Any students from Penn Alexander can be picked up by Hacktory coordinators, with parent permission.

After this session, we will offer another Intro 6 week session, on a different day of the week so more students can participate. We will also explore offering a second 6 week intermediate series, based on interest and progress of the students.

Laptops will be provided by Dept. of Making  + Doing. Development kits for the program are not included. There is a separate ticket for the kits, so families may purchase one if they prefer, though it is not required. Kits will be made available to the students to use during the sessions or borrow.
