Come one, come all to the annual Hacktory fundraiser: ROBOT UNIVERSE SHOWDOWN
Saturday May 7th 1-4pm.
It will be a day full of play, creativity, technical innovation, community, and just plain fun! Join us for an epic showdown of all kinds of robots.
Robot Enthusiasts: We welcome all robots, low-tech, high-tech, hacked toys, modified appliances and more. Each robot registered will compete in a set number of matches. Each match consists of 3 rounds. Points are awarded for winning a round, and the judges can also award points for robots that capture the underdog/low-tech/crappy spirit of our competition. After all robots have battled, overall match winners will be determined, as well as an overall winner of the judge's points. Robots with high-tech features may be dealt a high-tech penalty. See complete rules here.
Spectators: Have a great time learning about robots, help pick winners of the People's Choice category, have some snacks and beer (adults only), and buy tickets to our great selection of raffle prizes.
We will be running workshops on April 30th at The Hacktory and on the morning of the 7th from 10am - 1pm at Venturef0rth. Come build your a bot for the Showdown later in the afternoon and learn tips and tricks from others. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to attend. A ticket is required for the workshops. If you'd also like to compete in the robot battle, we will email you a discount code to get $15 off a contestant ticket to the battle. All proceeds go to the annual Hacktory Fundraiser.
